Ishan Uday: The University Grants Commission has launched the Ishan Uday Scholarship with Central Government of India’s advice. This scholarship can be used by people from North Eastern States like Assam Arunachala Pradesh Manipur Meghalaya Mizoram Nagaland Tripura.

Ishan Uday Scholarships developed jointly by Human Resources Development Ministry, and UGC for economically-disadvantaged people in the northeast. Seats are allocated 50% to science, engineering, or medicine; and 50% each for law, social sciences, management, or business. These scholarships help students who are financially disadvantaged to obtain higher Education.

Every year, approximately 10,000 Ishan Uday scholarship awards will be made under this program. Selected students will be entitled to the scholarship over a period of 10 months. Qualification Criteria
- Applicants are required to verify their residency in North-Eastern countries such as Assam (Arunachal Pradesh), Manipur (Meghalaya), Nagaland and Tripura.
- A family income that is not greater than 4.5 lakhs dollars per year from all sources.
- The North Eastern region requires students to pass class 12, or its equivalent, from an approved board.
- Also, the applicants must secure admission in the 1st year of any degree course, including integrate courses, at any of the universities/colleges/institutes under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, as well as Deem-to-be Universities list under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from the UGC, State/Centrally fund educational institutions, national repute institutes, as well as those institutions with an AISHE code.
- Ishan UDAY scholarship is beneficial for transgender as well.
- Ishan Uday scholarships is not offered to open university students.
- The scholarship will not be awarded to a candidate that has taken the admissions via the management quota.

- Click on “New Registration” in new homepage.
- After that, a new web page will appear.
