What is National Scholarship Portal NSP?

NSP – National Scholarship enables students to apply for and receive scholarships. They can also process, sanction, and arrange them. A Mission Mode Project under the National e-Government Plan was created to launch the National Scholarships Portal.

    1. The scholarship application form contains all information about the student’s eligibility for a particular award.
    2. All scholarships are available in a single application
    3. The student is then suggested a scheme for which they are eligible, based on their system.
    4. Duplicates can only be minimized to a certain extent
    5. Data master of all Indian educational institutions and courses.

    NSP Objectives

    1. It is important that students receive their scholarship funds on time
    2. The federal and state governments should provide a common website for all scholarship schemes.
    3. Transparency within the scholar database
    4. The same process should never be repeated
    5. The Norms for Scholarships should be Harmonized
    6. Using Direct Benefit Transfers

Selected Scholarships Pre and Post Matric

You can find the following criteria when selecting new Pre-Matric and post-Matric students:

    1. Selected Candidates for Fresh Applicants

In order to ensure that the limited number of NSP awards are distributed fairly, there must be a system in place for selecting the best candidates. It is more important to give weight to the poverty of a candidate than to their marks in inter-selection (the application must include a copy of an income certification as specified by para-11.ii). The ‘Date-of-Birth’ of the applicant will determine the level of merit in the case of a similar income (senior applicants should be preferred).

    2. The Selection Process for Renewal Applicants

Renovation cases do not take into account the age on merit lists. Renewal applicants will receive scholarships if they have completed the examinations of the previous academic year (at the institution, in the course and at the school) as well as whose application has been accepted by both the federal and state governments.

    NSP Scholarships Distribution Rule

Muslims, Sikhs Christians, Jains, Zoroastrians, and Jains have all received notification as minority communities in accordance with section 2 (c). The ‘Fresh Scholarships’ will consist of five (05), lakhs of online scholarship awards. Renewal Scholarships do not count. According to rider A & B, the States/Union Territories are allotted scholarships based on the population of the Few in the respective States/Union Territories in 2017-18 and based on the Census 2011 Population of the Few in the respective States/Union Territories in 2018-19 and 2019.
